Would you enjoy the rewards of being a Temporary Foster Home? Foster homes are a scarce commodity and are critical to canine and feline rescue. We do not have a shelter, so when foster homes are unavailable many dogs and cats cannot be rescued; this often means death.

Responsibilities of canine foster care are as follows: A foster family or person must provide a safe, secure, stable environment and, most importantly, the love needed to nurture the dogs back to being healthy and happy. Some dogs require special care, such as recovering from surgery, socializing, building trust (sometimes time consuming but very rewarding), solving behavior problems, housebreaking, exercise, and your attention.

Support provided by Animal Friends Connection: AFCHS will provide all medical care using our veterinarians. Every effort will be made to place the dogs and puppies in a permanent loving home. If providing food stands in the way of your fostering, we will find a way to supply it to you.

Responsibilities of Feline Foster Care: You must provide a safe, secure, stable indoor environment, and the love to turn them into happy, healthy cats. Some of the cats or kittens will need help recovering from medical problems; others will need to be socialized.

Support provided by Animal Friends Connection: AFCHS will provide all medical care using our veterinarians. We will also provide crates for transportation to adoption sites. Every effort will be made to place the cats and kittens in permanent loving home. If providing food stands in the way of your fostering, we will find a way to supply it to you.

Fostering is a wonderful family project, it teaches children empathy. Students are often required by their schools to do community service This would be a great opportunity for them to get involved. You can also set the parameters of animals you would be willing to care for.
