iGrady

Grady

Little 7 pound Grady is safely in foster care with AFC! Grady and his little sister, Gigi, were found duct-taped inside a box, abandoned! They are 9 week old little Terrier/Chi mixes. Grady has a dark muzzle and looks like a little mini German Shepherd at 9 weeks old but will be much smaller. They are both completely and totally adorable, happy, healthy puppies who LOVE to snuggle, LOVE to romp and play together. They are incredibly entertaining watching them play with their toys and run and explore. These are not shy kids, but very well socialized happy babies. They LOVE to sleep with foster mama and have not had any accidents in bed! They are learning to go potty outside and learning to use the potty pads inside. They have been dewormed, Frontlined, and started on their vaccinations. Grady will be neutered, vaccinations current, and microchipped before going to his new home. They are a lot of fun together, sleep snuggled up together on top of each other. Both Grady and Gigi get along great with other dogs, have not been around cats but this young socializing them to kitties is not usually an issue.

Pukii

New

Puki

Puki is an adorable and pretty approximately 12 week old Pug/Boxer/Cattle Dog mix; this precious little girl (who we were told was Chihuahua mixed with Pug) is blind caused by people trying to pry her eyes open as baby, before her eyes opened naturally. A veterinary ophthalmologist says she is blind but her foster mom thinks she can see shadows. She doesn't run into walls and seems to know they are there. Puki is current on her vaccinations, has been de-wormed and Frontlined. She will be spayed and microchipped before going to a family. Puki has a cute personality; she likes water and will flip the water bowl to play in the water, foster mom says it is too cute. Puki cuddles like a baby when she sleeps. She loves her toys, likes tug-o-war and plays very well with the other dogs. She is a bit of a rough player but not to the point of anyone getting hurt. She is so affectionate and loving. When she is on play mode she doesn't want to cuddle. We think she will be a medium sized dog. She will need a patient, loving, experienced dog person home and will be a wonderful companion. Photography compliments of Gluskins on the Miracle Mile in Stockton, CA.

Miss Heidi

Adopted

Miss Heidi

We are told Miss Heidi is 6 years old, but she looks younger. She belonged to an elderly owner that could not take care of her anymore and the family took Heidi to a city-run shelter. Miss Heidi is a beautiful chocolate and tan Dachshund; she is sweet, loving and affectionate once she gets to know you, it takes a few minutes. She will be spayed, is current on her vaccinations and will be microchipped. She is potty-trained, was kept outside all day but slept inside at night. She must be adopted as a dog that lives and sleeps inside the house except to potty. She is not good with children, teens would be fine, an older calm home would be best. She is fine with other dogs and currently lives with 20 other dogs although Miss Heidi prefers people or her own company rather than other dogs. We are told she was very spoiled. She enjoys going for walks and rides well in the car. Miss Heidi likes to cuddle and gives kisses, she also loves to burrow under her blankies. She will be a great little companion.

Maddie

Maddie is a beautiful 5 to 6 year old Dachshund. She was found as a stray with her 4 and a half to 5 month old puppies named Miles and Millie. We rescued them from a city-run shelter. Maddie is current on her vaccinations, soon to be scheduled to be spayed (we are trying to get a little weight off her first). Maddie is very sweet and loving. She seems to be house-trained. She is an amazing little mom. Maddie rides well in the car and walks on a leash. She gets along very well with other dogs, we don’t know about cats. Maddie will be a wonderful companion. We feel a more mature maybe retired family, where someone will be with her a lot of the time. She deserves that after going through what she has. Maddie is still active and enjoys playing and going for walks.

Ramseyi

Ramsey

Ramsey is such an adorable 3 and a half year old, 12 to 14 pound Dachshund/Min-Pin mix; he is neutered, current on his vaccinations and has been de-wormed and microchipped. He is such a sweet boy and is a playful dog, has a really good personality. He is house-trained and is a housedog. Ramsey used to enjoy being held and cuddled but we think someone dropped him and now he is nervous about being picked up or held. He gets along great with other dogs and should have a canine playmate. He is fine with cats. He rides well in the car, enjoys going bye, bye and absolutely loves going for daily walks (well, he used to love walks but something happened during a brief adoption and he has been afraid ever since). He is a great little dog and will need to be in a home with calm adults; he is nervous when around younger kids. Ramsey is a dog that you will need to visit with a few times before taking him home; he will be a challenge but is so worth it. It’s a great feeling to save a needy shelter dog and turn them into wonderful companions. He really is a great little dog.

Lilly

Lilly is a pretty little Corgi/Chihuahua mix; she weighs approximately 12 to 14 pounds and is about 3 and a half years old. She was rescued after someone found her hit by a car. They came to us and we sent Lilly to the vet where she stayed for weeks. She recovered from the fractured pelvis and a broken leg and is now perfect. Lilly is current on her vaccinations, spayed and microchipped. She is loveable and affectionate, is used to using potty pads and whimpers when she needs to go outside to potty; she sleeps in a crate. She is good with other dogs but does not like dominant or alpha dogs. She is gentle, affectionate and on the shy side. She loves going on her walks and is good on leash; she also loves to be brushed and is motivated by food. Lilly is well-mannered and loving, she does not like to be left alone. We do not know how she would be with children but teens on up would be best. She doesn’t care about toys. She will be a great companion as she is not very big but will be a lot of company. Axel

Axel

Axel is a handsome 1 year old Border Collie/Cattle Dog/Pit Bull mix; his sibling is Snoopy #2. He will be current on his vaccinations, neutered and microchipped prior to going to a new home. He has only lived outside and is on an unfenced property which is why they need a home, they are confined a lot to a small kennel. They do get walked and are let out evenings when the family is home. Axel will sit and shake with his paw. He gets along very well with other dogs and is affectionate and playful. He walks well on leash but could use a little more training in that department. He is really smart and is a loving, loveable dog. Gets along with children ages 6 year and up, we don't know about cats so probably should say no. He loves to chase a red laser light. Axel rides well in the car and will be a wonderful companion.

Oakley

Oakley

Oakley is an adorable little JRT mix; he is approximately 1 and a half years old. He was rescued by an ACT volunteer. ACT non-profit animal hospital asked us to take him, they neutered, vaccinated and began his shots and microchipped him. Oakley is a good-natured, lovable 8 to 9 pound little guy that gets along with other dogs. His main goal at his foster home is outsmarting his foster parent with his determination to sleep on her bed. Oakley is a good watch dog and enjoys eating; if you have other dogs and they leave any food he will finish it for them. He will even try to eat their bowl. He will sleep in a dog bed if he can't find an armchair or - still better - a lap. Oakley is potty trained to a doggy door. He will bark if he hears noises that he can't see. He is a little shy of new people but soon has a new friend. He will be a great little companion.
