Roy

New

Roy

Roy is a 10 month old Terrier mix puppy, weighing about 25 pounds. He is neutered, microchipped, and all shots current. Roy is a sweet puppy that just wants to be loved. He is shy at first when he meets new people (because he had mostly just been with other dogs) but just needs someone who will be patient with him. He loves sitting on the couch and sleeping in the bed with his foster momma. He is housebroken, and we are working on leash-training. He is fine with other dogs and fine with cats. Just a pup that is really no trouble.

Marley

New

Marley

Marley is a precious 1 and a half year old black Maltese or Malti-Poo; he weighs 10.8 pounds. This bundle of love came to us so matted which is why his hair was cut so short. The groomer was amazed that he sat through grooming. He is a very good-natured little guy. He is current on his vaccinations, has been neutered and is microchipped. Marley knows how to use the doggie door, he will have an occasional accident but we haven't had him long. He is in the same foster home as Pippa is and they make a wonderful pair, although they can be adopted separately. He is slower to take to other dogs but it is more shy than anything else. Pippa and Marley run all over the house and yard together and both of them sleep in foster mom's bed. He is good with adults; we don't know about kids and we are unsure about cats as he has not been around them. Marley loves to play fetch. He will bring the ball or toy back and drop it at your feet. It is his favorite thing to do. It takes a while to wear him out. Marley is just a bundle of love. He doesn't bark much unlike a lot of smaller dogs. Pippa and Marley are adorable together and will be wonderful companions; one is white and the other is black (like salt and pepper).

Pippa

New

Pippa #2

Pippa #2 is a beautiful 6 month old Maltese weighing in at 8.85 pounds of love. She knows how to use the doggie door and is house-trained. Pippa #2 is excellent in the car as she just sits or lies on the passenger seat. She loves to run around the backyard and play with toys and her canine friend Marley. She sleeps in bed with her foster mom and is a bundle of joy. Pippa #2 is good around other dogs and so far has not met a person she didn't like. We do not have any idea of how she will be around cats as foster mom doesn't have any. Pippa #2 has been spayed, is current on her vaccinations and has been microchipped. She came to AFC with an injury on her neck and chest, the stitches are out and she is fully recovered. Pippa #2 is learning to walk on leash but has not yet mastered it. Since the stitches just recently came out we had been unable to put a collar on her. Pippa is a loving little girl and will sit on your lap to be loved or run around and play fetch after you play Tug 'O War a bit to get the toy back. Marley and Pippa #2 would be a wonderful pair together as they are in the same foster home, although they can be adopted separately. They are adorable together though, one is white and the other is black (like salt and pepper).

Penelope

Adopted

Penelope

Penelope is an active 18 month old beauty weighing 17 pounds, we think she is a Lhasa-Poo. She lived with a homeless person who was no longer able to care for her and turned to one of our fabulous rescuers, Miss Vinson, to take her into safety. She is safe at our sanctuary and is doing well with other dogs. She is a better fit for dogs her size or larger as she plays too rough with the little ones. Penelope does not like to be crated; she is so loving and attaches to her person. She is leashed-trained, does very well in the car, and loves to play. She is also quite the lap girl and loves to be held, and is very affectionate. She seems to be fine with cats, is good taking a bath, and enjoys her carrot treats! This little girl is spayed, current on her vaccinations, de-wormed, Frontlined and microchipped. She is ready to go to her forever home and will be an awesome companion.

Jazzy

New

Jazzy

Darling Jazzy just turned a year old in July! Someone brought her to us and when we went inside for some paperwork they took off. This sweet girl weighs 15 pounds; her daddy is a purebred Pug, and mama is a Poodle/Terrier mix, making Jazzy a Pug-A-Poo/Terrier. What an adorable little face! She is a mellow girl that is good with other doggies. She is playful and is so cute with toys. She lays on her back and holds her toy in the air over her head with her paws and plays with it. She will bark to greet people but not excessively. She is shy at first but warms up to people quickly and would do best in an adult home. She is gaining confidence now that she is a sanctuary girl and meeting lots of new people. She loves to play with the other dogs and they are helping her with her confidence. She would do best to have a canine playmate. We were able to find out her information by her microchip which led us to the family who had her parents. The son had rehomed her and unfortunately that placement didn’t work out. She is currently spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, de-wormed and Frontlined. She is also scheduled to be spayed and microchipped before going to her forever home. She will be a wonderful, loving companion.

Hannah

Adopted

Hannah

Beautiful little Hannah is a Chihuahua/Lowland Sheepdog mix. The place she originally came from tells us that she is part Lowland Sheepdog. She is 10 weeks old and weighs 4 pounds. She is a sweet, sweet baby. She loves her snuggles and her quiet time, but also loves to wrestle and play with her older foster siblings. She gets along great with all the dogs and likes to be right in on all of the action. Her favorite dog to play with is her foster sibling 3 year old Piper. She thinks she is a big girl now and tries to keep up with her. Although her eating started out slow when she was younger and she had to be syringe fed, that has all changed as she eats great now. She loves her puppy food, chicken and turkey. And she gets very excited at mealtimes. She is doing well with potty pad training and is learning to go potty outside. Her foster family has a doggy door, but she has not quite mastered it yet. She is a very smart girl and learns things quickly so it won't take her long to figure the door out. She is getting up to date on all her vaccines and will be getting spayed and microchipped. Hannah is a bright, happy, playful puppy and she will add a lot of joy to her new forever home.

Annie

Annie

Adorable, precious little Annie is a 4 year old Terrier mix with huge big brown eyes. This little girl is such an easy girl to have around, very sweet, undemanding and completely potty trained. We don’t think she had much care in her previous life, she flinches when foster mom picks up even the smallest remote. Her behavior indicates that someone was abusive towards her in her past, yet she is capable of great love. When she first came to her foster home, her eyes were so incredibly sad and sorrowful, it is such a joy to watch her begin to blossom with love. She prefers to sleep in her own bed on the floor next to foster mom, though she is invited to sleep in the big bed. She loves lounging on the outdoor couch with foster mom. Such a pleasure to see her wagging her tail and beginning to enjoy exploring the world and gaining confidence every day! She is working on her leash-training and loves loves loves going for a walk. She is great in the car and for a shy girl, becomes very outgoing getting out in the car and for her walks. She is not a girl that will jump in your lap and shower you with kisses upon meeting you, but one who will sweetly come for a pet and a love. She jumps onto foster dad’s lap to get her snuggles in, but is not a girl who wants to lounge in a lap for hours on end. She is good with other dogs, but not a playful girl and doesn’t really interact with her foster siblings. Cats are unknown. She would be fine as an only dog as she doesn’t seem to need canine companionship. She is a very mellow laid back girl. Showing a girl like this how to love and be loved is one of the most rewarding experiences. She would love a calm quiet home with someone that she can get out and about with for her walks as she really blossoms when out and about. This reserved girl is not recommended for a home with children, or young grandchildren. She would love someone who has time to spend with her, teaching her how wonderfully kind and loving a human can be. She is learning to trust and love in her foster home and will make someone a wonderful companion. She has been vaccinated, de-wormed, Frontlined, microchipped and spayed. She is ready for her happily ever after!

Shaggy

Adopted

Shaggy

Shaggy is a handsome approximately 1 to 2 year old, half Dachshund and half Poodle (Doxiepoo) mix weighing 12.5 pounds; father is a Poodle and mom is a Dachshund. Shaggy looks like a wire-haired Dachshund and has beautiful light golden brown eyes. He is current on his vaccinations, Frontlined, de-wormed, microchipped and has been neutered. He is a little shy at first, he likes children, is good with other dogs. He is a little reserved as some Dachshunds are and would not be considered a non-shedding dog. Rides well in the car and likes to go for walks, he is also house-trained. Is learning to play with other dogs and is a laid back boy. Shaggy needs a home with a dog that isn’t too dominate as his father often overwhelms him. He likes to be held and is affectionate when he gets to know you. He is adorable and is a sweet boy who loves to cuddle. He will be a wonderful companion.

Chico

Chico

Chico is a 7 month old puppy, born in October. He is a mixed breed pup, and weighs about 27 pounds, so is medium sized. He is neutered, microchipped and all shots are current. He is a sweet, easy going pup that just wants to be loved. He is shy at first until he warms up to you. He has mostly been outside, but would love a home where he can come inside some of the time, too. He has other brothers and sisters, and gets along fine with other dogs. He could use a foster home or a permanent adoptive home.

Margie

Margie

Margie is an adorable possible Dachshund mix. She is 1 and a half years old and 12 pounds. Margie is in charge of the dogs in the house. She is not mean but she reminds her rescuer of Judge Judy! She is taller than the others and that makes her the queen. She loves her treats! She is housebroken and uses a doggie door. She and her foster sisters chase and chase and chase each other then they crash in a heap and sleep together! She is spayed, and will be current on her vaccinations and microchipped. Margie will be a wonderful companion.
