Bogie

Adopted

Bogie

Bogie is a handsome 2 and a half to 3 year old Poodle. He came to us terribly matted and Kelly at the “Pet Set” groomed him for us. He weighs 11.2 pounds and is a sweetie. This adorable boy gets along well with other dogs. Rides well in the car and walks well on leash. He is learning to play with toys. Bogie talks to you when you pet him and grunts happily when you pick him up. He seems house-trained and is a very sweet little boy. Bogie loves to be held and cuddled. He is playful although not overly playful. When he wants other dogs to play with him he hops around on his back legs and encourages them to play with him. He is current on his vaccinations, neutered and microchipped. This little guy will be a wonderful companion. Professional photography courtesy of 4 Paws Pet Photography.

Willow

Willow

Pretty little Willow is one of five 5 month old Terrier mixes. This adorable girl is the only female in the litter and looks like a little deer. She currently weighs about 7 pounds. She has had all of her DHLPPs, has been de-wormed as well as microchipped and spayed. Willow's siblings are Ryder, Ozzie, Freddy and Simba. These adorable puppies were in a situation living outside and not being cared for when an AFC employee offered to foster them. The employee saw the mom; she looks like a little Spaniel/Dachshund mix and dad must be the Terrier mix. They use their potty pads most of the time but will need more potty training. They are also used to using a doggie door. They are happy and full of life and are now fun-loving, healthy and playful puppies. They all love to play the Chase Me game. They will be wonderful little companions.

Katie

Katie

Beautiful Katie is 3 to 4 year old and weighs 39.3 pounds. She looks like she is Beagle and Jack Russell Terrier with longer legs. She would do best as an only dog as she is dominant over other dogs both male and female. Katie is very sweet and loves to be petted. When you stop petting her she puts her paw on you to tell you she would like to be petted more. She will follow you everywhere and will lay down you when stop and go to sleep. She is a very mellow girl. She walks very well on a leash and does well in the car. She loves to be around people. She is also potty trained to go outside or use potty pads, she is a perfect housedog. Katie and Maddie were found several months ago together but we still feel that Katie may be best as an only dog, although it may be that we have too many dogs for her to be around. Katie is scheduled to be spayed and has been vaccinated and microchipped. She will be a wonderful loving companion.

Roy

Roy

Roy is a 1 year old autistic Terrier mix puppy, weighing about 25 pounds. He is neutered, microchipped, and all shots current. He is fearful, but you can do anything to him: he won’t bite or complain. Will tuck himself in to a corner of your house, and only goes with you anywhere and readily, when on leash… He dribbles a little pee when leashing him up, but so what? He is house-trained, and when he needs to go, will whine and yelp. Goes pee and poop on leash. Don’t take him off the leash: you will not get him back. This special boy would be great for a shut-in or a special-needs person. Why? He freezes when you pet him and you can do anything to him so no mean people please. He will not bite. Just keep him on a leash and let your inner dog-whisperer out! He’s good with all animals (generally, he is a dog after all), because all he does all day is lay there in his nest, unmoving. Hoping no one will notice him, I guess. His foster mom lives in Valley Springs and would love a visit from you!

Annie

Annie

Adorable, precious little Annie is a 4 year old Terrier mix with huge big brown eyes. This little girl is such an easy girl to have around, very sweet, undemanding and completely potty trained. We don’t think she had much care in her previous life, she flinches when foster mom picks up even the smallest remote. Her behavior indicates that someone was abusive towards her in her past, yet she is capable of great love. When she first came to her foster home, her eyes were so incredibly sad and sorrowful, it is such a joy to watch her begin to blossom with love. She prefers to sleep in her own bed on the floor next to foster mom, though she is invited to sleep in the big bed. She loves lounging on the outdoor couch with foster mom. Such a pleasure to see her wagging her tail and beginning to enjoy exploring the world and gaining confidence every day! She is working on her leash-training and loves loves loves going for a walk. She is great in the car and for a shy girl, becomes very outgoing getting out in the car and for her walks. She is not a girl that will jump in your lap and shower you with kisses upon meeting you, but one who will sweetly come for a pet and a love. She jumps onto foster dad’s lap to get her snuggles in, but is not a girl who wants to lounge in a lap for hours on end. She is good with other dogs, but not a playful girl and doesn’t really interact with her foster siblings. Cats are unknown. She would be fine as an only dog as she doesn’t seem to need canine companionship. She is a very mellow laid back girl. Showing a girl like this how to love and be loved is one of the most rewarding experiences. She would love a calm quiet home with someone that she can get out and about with for her walks as she really blossoms when out and about. This reserved girl is not recommended for a home with children, or young grandchildren. She would love someone who has time to spend with her, teaching her how wonderfully kind and loving a human can be. She is learning to trust and love in her foster home and will make someone a wonderful companion. She has been vaccinated, de-wormed, Frontlined, microchipped and spayed. She is ready for her happily ever after!

Chico

Chico

Chico is a 1 year old puppy, born in October. He is a mixed breed pup, and weighs about 35 pounds, so is medium sized. He is neutered, microchipped and all shots are current. He is a sweet, easy going pup that just wants to be loved. He is shy at first until he warms up to you. He has mostly been outside, but would love a home where he can come inside some of the time, too. He has other brothers and sisters, and gets along fine with other dogs. He could use a foster home or a permanent adoptive home.

Margie

Margie

Margie is an adorable possible Dachshund mix. She is 1 and a half years old and 12 pounds. Margie is in charge of the dogs in the house. She is not mean but she reminds her rescuer of Judge Judy! She is taller than the others and that makes her the queen. She loves her treats! She is housebroken and uses a doggie door. She and her foster sisters chase and chase and chase each other then they crash in a heap and sleep together! She is spayed, and will be current on her vaccinations and microchipped. Margie will be a wonderful companion.
