Oliver

Oliver

Oliver is a handsome approximately 1 and a half to 2 year old Pomeranian/Papillon mix; he was rescued several months ago and when he was neutered in November his blood would not clot. He had to be given a blood transfusion. He is doing great and is healthy; this is not common and may never happen again although a clotting test should be done prior to any surgery. He is very playful, a little shy with new people or situations. He is great with kids ages 4 years to 11 years and is good with other dogs. Oliver is current on his vaccinations and will be microchipped before going to a new family. He weighs 9.8 pounds and loves to play fetch, rides well in the car and is leash-trained. He will be a wonderful companion.

Fred

Fred

Bring them home for the holidays! Little love bugs, Fred and Dezi are adorable Chihuahua mixes who have lost their family. Mom and dad have been ill for the past year, out of town family came and sent them to a nursing home and refused to keep the dogs, leaving them homeless. Dezi (folded over ears) was born 10/14/06 and is 8 years old, Fred was born 2/19/07 and will be 8 years old in two months. Surprisingly, Dezi and Fred are pretty well adjusted after losing their family. Allen's Pet Resort was boarding them and now that the family has signed them over to AFC are doing so complimentary. They have spent all of their life together. They are gentle, affectionate and well-mannered. They are very loving and affectionate and also good watchdogs, but they will go up to strangers and would never bite. They are very smart. Walk on leash very well and ride well in the car. They are great with other dogs and are easy going, friendly and loving, they enjoy cuddling and are great lap dogs. They are housebroken, and also used to pee pads. Fred and Dezi are healthy, working on losing a little weight and are current on all vaccinations and neutered. They need a dental, which AFC has scheduled and they will be microchipped at that time. Please adopt these cute little boys so that they have a home before the end of the year. In lieu of an adoption fee we will accept a donation.

Lexie

Lexie

Lexie is a beautiful 4 and a half month old Pit mix puppy. She is current on her vaccinations and has been microchipped, de-wormed and Frontlined. She will soon be spayed. Lexie has normal puppy behavior; she is an exuberant puppy full of love who eagerly greets everyone with love and kisses. She is a strong girl and needs to be taught not to launch herself at people as that is a lot of puppy love. She is doing very well in a foster home with two large dogs and two small dogs. She is also being taught manners and is learning "Sit," "Stay," and "Come." She is very good with kids although the ones in the foster family are all over 10 years old. Foster mom says Lexie is settling in quite well! She has already picked up on what is meant by "go potty". She is a smart girl! She will need an active family willing to take her with them. She is doing very well in the house and is crate-trained. Lexie is enjoying her foster family very much; she has a yard to run and play in and a home to sleep inside, nice and cozy. She would do very well having something similar in her very own home. Lexie will be a wonderful companion. See Lexie in action: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g6dQdFAW-1k. Bunnie
Adopted

Bunnie

Bunnie is very sweet and very cute. She is a little cuddle bug and just loves people. She is a 4 month old Jack Russell Terrier and she gets along with other dogs and also with cats. Her shots are current and she is spayed. We have also noticed that she appears to be deaf, so she is very quiet and not a barker, but loves to play with other dogs. She would probably do best in a home with another dog since she seems to be deaf and could take her cues from another dog. If not she would do best with someone home most of the time to just dote on her and give her lots of love.

Charlie

Charlie

Charlie the Dream Dog: obedience trained by Sycamore Kennels in Lodi, he is smart, affectionate, loving, playful, athletic, and a loyal companion. Charlie is the perfect big dog for a family that’s looking for that special addition. He is a mix most likely of American Bulldog with Labrador and/or Boxer. He is just over a year old, weighs 65 pounds with a heart as big as he is. He loves all people and children, is house-trained, loves walks and car rides and is getting all As on his obedience training. He likes other dogs, but does not do well around alpha dogs or cats so he should be in a one animal household. A true miracle, he was found running the streets with a cord imbedded in his neck and just skin and bones but still never a cross word has come from him. This wonderful dog is ready and anxiously waiting for the family that will love him as much as he will love them. Charlie is neutered, microchipped and vaccinated.

Bourke

Bourke

Bourke is looking for a very special forever home. He came to Walnut Street in Stockton at the end of the summer, but no one knew from where. One story is that he lived on a derelict barge that floated in the canal for months until it was abandoned and removed. Another story is that he belonged to an older couple that died and the dog was abandoned. The only thing known for sure is that he found many new friends on Walnut Street where he played all day and guarded Walnut Street all night. He had his meals at several different homes and got to know most of the neighbors and their pets. He is a playful and intelligent "homeless survivor" that has touched our hearts. Bourke is shy and becoming socialized because of his experiences as a homeless dog. Bourke is an intelligent, 8 to 12 month old Terrier mix and he weighs 16 pounds. He is neutered, current on his shots and will be microchipped. Bourke has escaped many dangerous situations because he is able to squeeze through very small spaces. He needs a securely fenced yard and basic obedience training. He protected the neighborhood from strangers. He chases skateboards or bicycles. We assume that he started life in a family setting because he is responding to his foster family home. He wags his tail and is quick to make friends with small neighborhood dogs but has been known to chase cats. It is unknown if he is house broken; we hope to move him to a foster home where he can be inside soon or find a family to adopt him and make him a house dog. He loves toys, chew bones and rope pulls. Neighbors have spent hours enjoying his playful antics. He needs love, patience and a gentle hand.

Margie

Margie

Margie is an adorable possible Dachshund mix. She is 1 and a half years old and 12 pounds. Margie is in charge of the dogs in the house. She is not mean but she reminds her rescuer of Judge Judy! She is taller than the others and that makes her the queen. She loves her treats! She is housebroken and uses a doggie door. She and her foster sisters chase and chase and chase each other then they crash in a heap and sleep together! She is spayed, and will be current on her vaccinations and microchipped. Margie will be a wonderful companion.
