Ellie

New

Ellie

We are told that Ellie is a Rhodesian Ridgeback/Akita mix; whatever her breed, she is beautiful. Ellie is 9 months old and is current on vaccinations; she will be spayed and microchipped before going to her new home. She has been kept outside but we want her to become a house dog. She is house-trained and rings a bell to go outside to potty. She has normal puppy behavior and also likes to chew branches. Ellie knows the commands sit, stay, down, come and heel. Ellie is protective but also gentle and affectionate. She can be a watch dog but thinks she is a lap dog. Ellie is playful, gets along with other dogs and likes children as well as both men and women. Ellie rides in the car but can sometimes get car sick; she loves walking on leash. Ellie seems well-trained she just needs to spend more time with her family and live inside a house. She will be a wonderful companion. Bennie

New

Bennie

Bennie is a precious approximately 5 year old, 5 pound Chinese Crested/Chihuahua mix; the little sweetie was given to someone at a garage sale and that person didn't have time for him either. Fortunately we were contacted and a foster home was found. Bennie won't be homeless again; we are looking for a forever loving home for him. We have had him neutered, he is now current on his vaccinations and has been microchipped. He seems to have a bit of a skin allergy but he does not chew or scratch. Bennie is house-trained and will let you know when he has to potty. He barks at large dogs. Bennie will speak and sleeps in his crate. He is shy, gentle and affectionate. He is well-mannered and is a lap dog. Bennie gets nervous around small children. He is good with other dogs and fine with caged birds. He rides well in the car and walks well on a leash. He will be a wonderful little companion.

Charli

Charli is a handsome, recently rescued 3 and a half year old long-haired Dachshund; he is now neutered, current on all of his vaccinations and has been microchipped. Charli loves water, likes rides in the car and is very good with other dogs. He is good with kids and seems house-trained to a doggie door. He LOVES squeekies (TOYS) and is a playful and happy little boy. Charli is active; once he gets on a mission he won’t stop until he is satisfied; he’s a little charmer. Charli sleeps in his foster mom's bed. His coat was a little drab but he is on a quality dog food and his coat is starting to shine. He is a little guy and will be a great little companion.

Hattie

Hattie

Hattie is a good little dog. She is very well house-trained, and also leash-trained and doesn't pull. She loves people, but can be choosy with other dogs, so she would do best in a household as either an only dog or with a male dog. She is spayed and her shots are current.

Bruno

Adopted

Bruno

Bruno is a big, handsome 2 year old Rottweiler mix; he is current on his vaccinations and will be neutered and microchipped before going to a new family. Bruno weighs 126 pounds. He has only lived outside but would love to be in the house and part of the family. Bruno loves people, he is easy going and friendly with kids. In his current home he plays with a 7 year old girl and a 14 year old boy. He has never been around other animals so we don't know how he will do. Bruno is a big, friendly boy; it's not that he is hyper he is just big and the family does not have time for him. He spends a lot of time alone in the backyard so when he sees his family he gets excited and playful. He would be a wonderful companion for a family that has time for him and will make him a family member.

Bourke

Bourke

Bourke is looking for a very special forever home. He came to Walnut Street in Stockton at the end of the summer, but no one knew from where. One story is that he lived on a derelict barge that floated in the canal for months until it was abandoned and removed. Another story is that he belonged to an older couple that died and the dog was abandoned. The only thing known for sure is that he found many new friends on Walnut Street where he played all day and guarded Walnut Street all night. He had his meals at several different homes and got to know most of the neighbors and their pets. He is a playful and intelligent "homeless survivor" that has touched our hearts. Bourke is shy and becoming socialized because of his experiences as a homeless dog. Bourke is an intelligent, 8 to 12 month old Terrier mix and he weighs 16 pounds. He is neutered, current on his shots and will be microchipped. Bourke has escaped many dangerous situations because he is able to squeeze through very small spaces. He needs a securely fenced yard and basic obedience training. He protected the neighborhood from strangers. He chases skateboards or bicycles. We assume that he started life in a family setting because he is responding to his foster family home. He wags his tail and is quick to make friends with small neighborhood dogs but has been known to chase cats. It is unknown if he is house broken; we hope to move him to a foster home where he can be inside soon or find a family to adopt him and make him a house dog. He loves toys, chew bones and rope pulls. Neighbors have spent hours enjoying his playful antics. He needs love, patience and a gentle hand.
