"Nikky's Door"
When
your companion animal dies or when you are anticipating their death, it
may feel like you have lost a family member. It can be a very difficult
time for you and your family. Animal Friends Connection understands this,
and offers this support group to help.
This support group offers a safe, understanding place where you are free
to express feelings and to find that you are not alone.
You may feel
as if a door to a very special place in your heart is closed, but often,
as healing comes, you find that your pet has left you with a lasting gift
- the growing awareness that you can choose to open other doors where
love will live and thrive. Pet loss can be extremely difficult for children
as well as adults. Besides a time of sadness, it may be a child's first
experience with death. With support and guidance it can be a growth experience
for them. They, too, can choose to open doors that let love continue to
grow.
